Natalie and Callum - Judges Wedding

Natalie and Callum married at St Mary's Church in Norton before heading to Judges Hotel, Kirklevington for their reception.

St Mary's is one of my favourite churches to work in, with beautiful stone arches, gorgeous stained glass windows and always a warm greeting from Reverend Martin, who runs the show over at St Mary's. A wooden lichgate at the entrance to the church yard provides a perfect spot for throwing confetti and is always a great location for photographs. We used this picturesque spot to shoot portraits of Natalie, Callum and their daughter Harriet, before moving on to Judges.

Judges is another firm favourite of mine and is a venue that I frequently find myself coming back to year on year, such is it's popularity in our area. And it's easy to see why Brides and Grooms fall in love with this beautiful place on the edge of North Yorkshire, with stunning grounds surrounding the great house, complete with waterfalls and a secret garden. Natalie, Callum, Harriet and I enjoyed a relaxed walk around the venue, shooting portraits in a natural style whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the Courtyard Suite.

After shooting a large group shot (and squeezing my upper body through a tight, roof window to give me an elevated angle), the photography took on a reportage feel, with me being on hand to capture natural moments as the day unfolded, with the speeches being particular high point. I always love to catch  reactions during the speeches, it's a fantastic time of the day to be ready and waiting with my camera!

It was wonderful to shoot for Mr and Mrs Green and little Harriet was an absolute joy! From the moment I walked into the room to shoot the bridal preparations, right through until the moment I left, Harriet continually greeted me with those big blue eyes and in the cutest voice you've ever heard.... "Hello Michael" "Hello Michael" every time she spotted me! I really couldn't help but smile and laugh every single time before saying back to her "Hello Harriet"..... we must of said hello to each other at least 100 times throughout the day!

Congratulations to Callum and Natalie, I'll look forward to catching up with you soon, tell Harriet I said hello! xx
