Holly and Alex were married at St Mary's Church, Norton before delighting their guests with a chic reception at East Harlsey Village Hall earlier this Summer.
I've known Holly and Alex for a long time now, and was absolutely thrilled when they asked if I was available to shoot their wedding. They're a stylish couple and I knew instantly that their wedding would be effortlessly cool and a brilliant occasion to shoot. Once Holly had told me her plans, I knew that this wedding was going to be amazing!
Holly and the girls were getting ready at Maid of Honour Kayleigh's house and I was delighted to find that her decor around the home was wonderful. The house proved to be the perfect backdrop for the bridal prep shots and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the air as the girls enjoyed a glass of champagne. After an hour or so at the house, I headed over to St Mary's to catch the boys arriving.
St Mary's is beautiful, one of the best churches in the area and great for photos. Reverend Martin is a great guy too and it's always a pleasure to work with him. Alex was feeling a little nervous as the ceremony drew closer so we grabbed a couple of quick shots with his Groomsmen before he headed inside the church to await his bride. Meanwhile outside, we used the church grounds to capture portraits of the gorgeous Flowergirls who performed brilliantly in front of the lens. Holly arrived with a huge smile on her face, ready to be proudly escorted down the aisle by her Brother, Ben.
A beautiful and emotional ceremony ensued while the rain began to pour outside. Not to be deterred by a little bit of adverse weather, guests waited patiently outside the church to greet the newly weds (complete with umbrellas) to a huge cheer and plenty of confetti before they made their way over to East Harlsey Village Hall.
Holly and Alex had created a unique wedding day, drawing on areas of their lives that they love. A delicious BBQ was provided by Blackwell's of Norton while entertainment was provided by local lads and friends of the Groom, The Funk Collective.
In the stylishly decorated tipi, the highly anticipated speeches proved to be a high point of the day, with plenty of genuine emotion (from Ben), love (from Alex) and laughter (particularly from the Best man)! The relaxed day time atmosphere gave way to a full on party vibe as the evening set in and the band took to the stage.
This was a great wedding day to be a part of and it was wonderful to shoot at East Harlsey Village Hall for the first time.
Holy and Alex are a cracking couple with a great future ahead of them. I'm so pleased that they had everything they could of possibly wished for on their wedding day. Great food, plenty of drink, big laughs and their family and friends enjoying the moment with them. What more could you want?
Congratulations guys, see you in Storytellers! xxxxx
