It was great to be back at one of the areas top venues, Wynyard Hall, for the wedding of Kylie and Daniel over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Wynyard Hall is a great place to shoot, full of decadence and charm.....just like Kylie and Danny! From the moment they booked, I knew that this was going to be a cracking day to be behind my camera.
When I arrived at the house for morning preparation shots, there was a fun atmosphere in the air, greatly helped by excited Flower Girls Maddie, Tallouhla and Indie, alongside a spirited young Pageboy named Frazer. It was obvious from the beginning that these guys would be playing up in front of the cameras for me!
Kylie look stunning in her dress and the tears flowed once her bridesmaids and parents were given their first look. We captured a handful of portraits in the garden before I made my way over to Wynyard to meet Danny and the guests.
Danny arrived in a beautiful, convertible Jaguar which fitted in perfectly with the sharp suits and stylish venue. While we were shooting pictures of the boys somebody mentioned GQ Magazine..... and I knew exactly what they meant!
The ceremony, conducted brilliantly by Anita, had lots of funny moments (Vincent) and lots of emotional energy, particularly from Danny, who did well to hold it all together after a shaky start! The Mirror Room at Wynyard Hall is a wonderful space, perfect for natural light photographs with the huge windows allowing a vast amount of light to illuminate the entire room.
After the ceremony, we let Kylie and Daniel enjoy a few moments to catch their breaths while being congratulated by friends and family, before shooting a full group photograph. The guys wanted a very relaxed feel to proceedings, while still ensuring we made time for portraits of them together and a handful of family photos. We managed to shoot everything that they wanted and still had plenty of time to relax and eat Ice Cream, provided by Sundaes of Yarm.
Before the wedding breakfast was served, Danny and his Best Man Callum conducted their speeches perfectly, to a great reception from the crowd, the best moment being when Danny presented his new Father In Law with the biggest bottle of vodka you've ever seen!
After the speeches, the sun began to set over "the Great Hall" so we made time to shoot a handful of additional low light shots before and Kylie and Danny played host to an energetic party!
It was brilliant to shoot for Mr and Mrs Short and it'd been a pleasure getting know these two in the run up to the wedding. They're a great, fun loving couple and the relaxed wedding celebrations reflected them as a duo perfectly.
