Amy and Alan - Acklam Hall

It was wonderful to be asked to shoot my first wedding at the area's newest wedding venue, Acklam Hall, for Amy and Alan.

When Amy, Alan and I first met, it was easy to tell that their upcoming wedding would be a sophisticated and stylish affair and I instantly wanted to be a part of their celebrations.

The ceremony and bridal preparations felt like home turf for me, with the wedding taking place only a stones throw away from our studio here in Yarm. St Mary Magdalen is a beautiful church, set in tree lined grounds with views to Yarm Viaduct. As avid hockey players, Amy and Alan were greeted to a guard of honour from their hockey playing guests, before being showered with confetti as they left St Mary Magdalen.

So onto Acklam Hall and a chance to see a brand new wedding venue in action. Kelly and the team certainly pulled out all of the stops to ensure that Amy, Alan and their guests enjoyed a wonderful occasion in the July sunshine. Acklam Hall will surely become one of the areas top venues over the coming years, the setting is grand, the food is divine and the service impeccable.

After champagne, canapés and chilled saxophone on the lawn, guests were treated to a brilliant set of speeches with Amy's Father's emotional and heartfelt video a particular highlight. Photographs of Amy growing up flashed through the projector screen to an audio backdrop of Paul Simon's classic song

Father and Daughter

"I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you"

A really gorgeous moment that had everyone (especially the Dad's in the room) feeling a little bit emotional!

Amy and Alan's wedding was fantastic, and a real pleasure to shoot. I absolutely loved working with such a cracking group of people and I adored working at Acklam Hall for the first time, this wedding has been a personal highlight of a fantastic wedding season in 2016.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Patel, may you enjoy a very long and happy life together xx
