Hollie and Phill became Mr and Mrs on a blustery day in the North Yorkshire countryside at St Agatha's Church, Gilling West, before entertaining guests at the beautiful Yorkshire Wedding Barn, a stylish venue fit for a stylish couple.
This was my first wedding at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn and it is easy to see why the venue is becoming highly popular, attracting discerning couples who wish to celebrate in style. Set in acres of beautiful land, with contemporary, high class accommodation, the Yorkshire Wedding Barn is the perfect fusion of rustic charm and modern luxury, not to mention a dream venue for a photographer!
I've known Hollie and Phill for a few years now and have enjoyed working with their families on many occasions, shooting weddings and family portraits. I was absolutely delighted when they asked if I was available to shoot for them.
When I arrived during the morning to shoot the bridal preparations, there was a calm and relaxed atmosphere that lasted throughout the entire day. Hollie even walked back from the church across windswept farm fields in that beautiful dress and heels! The relaxed atmosphere made for a perfect day of celebrations, just as they happy couple had envisaged.
As the day flowed into the evening, legendary wedding band The Last Anthem played out a rip roaring set that had everyone in the room partying on the dance floor. The guys from the Last Anthem always create a real buzz during their wedding gigs and this night was no exception.
It was great to work alongside Sarah MacVean of MacVean Videography who was on hand to capture wedding day video. It's always a pleasure to work with Sarah and we enjoyed getting creative as the sun began to drop, shooting stills and video of our gorgeous Bride and Groom in nearby corn fields.
The photography ended after a wonderful display of fireworks illuminated the night sky above. I could of easily stayed to enjoy the party but, with another wedding to shoot the following day, I congratulated the guys on a spectacular day and headed back across the A66 with the party in full swing.
I'd like to say a massive congratulations to Hollie and Phill, it really was fantastic to be a part of your day and I hope to of captured a collection of memories that will be fondly remembered for many happy years together.
