Claire and Andy were married in late April at a church that had featured throughout their family history, before celebrating with a reception at Walworth Castle. Trinity Methodist Church in Middlesbrough had played host to Claire's parents wedding, (Bernard and Denise have been happily married for many years after signing their marriage certificate at Trinity Methodist) and the tradition was continued as Claire and Andy became Mr and Mrs Glynn.
I've known the Bride's family for quite a long time now and it was wonderful to be asked if I could shoot this huge occasion for them. The atmosphere in the house during morning preparations was one of anticipation and excitement, tinged with a little sadness as Bridesmaid Laura had to miss the occasion due to illness. Laura was certainly present in everybody's minds as the day progressed and she even managed to join the party via FaceTime!
Arriving at the church I was greeted by the Minister who conducted a humorous ceremony much to the delight of the guests, just one of the many highlights over an action packed day. After the guys had signed the register, they headed out of the church where Claire was surprised to be greeted by a group of young Brownies with confetti at the ready. This was a lovely moment for Claire and her family as Brownies has played a big part in her life.
We headed over to Walworth Castle for the reception and partying to begin. One of my favourite moments of this wedding (and a highlight of every wedding I shoot) was the speeches. The light in the reception room at Walworth Castle was excellent, giving me plenty of opportunity to focus on capturing the emotions, love and laughter that the speeches were sure to bring.
Walworth castle have their very own Bird Of Prey team, who demonstrate these beautiful birds to fascinated guests. From a photographers point of view, this was a part of the day that was brilliant to shoot....although a little challenging trying to capture fast moving birds in action! It was a challenge that I hugely enjoyed and I was pleased with the resulting images.
By this time the evening was drawing in and the party mood was getting into full swing. I left the guys on the dance floor to enjoy the remainder of their evening after I'd photographed the first dance (and some of the guests enjoying themselves on the dance floor too)!
It was a pleasure to shoot for Claire and Andy, who are a great couple with a laid back attitude that will surely lead to a very happy future ahead of them. Congratulations xxx
